This video was made for Johnny and his dog Xena two years ago when Johnny was just 9 years old.
Xena was an abandoned and abused dog that Johnny’s mom heard about on TV, and for some reason, she was drawn to her.
She decided that she wanted to adopt her once she was nursed back to health, and when she came home, they had no clue how she was about to change their lives. Most importantly, how she was about to change Johnny’s life.
Johnny was diagnosed with autism,and his family felt helpless at times when they couldn’t get Johnny to reach “typical” milestones in life, or even get him to communicate at all.
But when they went to finally pick up Xena one day, she immediately gravitated toward Johnny more than anyone else.
Xena sparked something right back in Johnny, and suddenly, he changed.
This videoshows thebeautiful journey that their family has gone through since adopting Xena and tells an inspirational message for anyone struggling with autism.
