The Mastiff And The Bullmastiff: Big Dogs With Even Bigger Hearts

I‘ve always loved big dogs. Maybe it’s because they’re so lovable, or maybe it feels like they are protecting me, but there’s something about a big dog that I can’t get enough of. Whether it’s a well-trained golden retriever or a cuddly Great Dane, they’re hard NOT to love! But these next breeds arebig with a capital “B.”

Originally from England, the mastiff and the bullmastiff are said to be the largest breeds of dog in terms of mass. They can weigh anywhere from 120 to 250 pounds. Yikes! But just as big as they are in size, they have a very big heart and a lot of love to give. The bullmastiff is a bit smaller, since they are descendants of both the English mastiffand the old English bulldog, but it’s still pretty big if you ask me! Both breeds have a short coat, so they only need weekly brushing and the occasional bath plus, they are perfect for families and will no doubt protect your home!

If you’re looking for an adventurous and good-natured pup for you and your family, you might just realize that in this case, bigger IS better!
