At first glance, Tigger the dog may look like any other adorable pooch. But the shelter dog has a unique quality to go with his unique disability.

Called the “kangaroo” dog, the 2-year-old pit bull mixis afflicted by lobster claw syndrome, orectrodactyly. It is a rare birth defect, and a malformation in his front legs causes them to end about six inches before they are supposed to. His front paws are also formed as if to look like claws.

But Tigger isn’t letting his disabilityget him down. He spends moretime on his hind legs because putting pressure on his front legs causes him pain. He is already afflicted with various ailments such as arthritis, and needs surgery. But none of this can dampen his spirit. He treats everyone asa friend, and will gladly take his place on your lap if so inclined!

Tigger isn’t just looking for medical assistance; he’s also looking for a loving forever home. You can help by donating to the GoFundMe page set up to pay for his surgery, and by spreading his story!

Tigger is quite the happy-go-lucky pup. Although hopping around has been uncomfortable, and he can only walk increasingly shorter distances, he loves to be pampered and loved by humans just like any dog!
