Swimming Dog Learns That He Can Stand On The Bottom Of The Pool

Cody is a happy-go-lucky 2-year-old Labrador retriever who loves his mom and loves his forever home. However, for all the things he loves to do, there’s one thing that it seems he simply cannotstand doing for more than a few minutes: swimming!

Even though Labradors are usually well known for their affinity for splashing around in the water, this particular dog seems above such trivial pursuits. In fact, even though he might love getting wet, he doesn’t seem to enjoy doing the doggy paddle in any way, shape, or form!

Cody’s mom, Tina Conrad, was watching her dog swim about in the backyard pool, when it became apparent that he had had enough. That’s when Cody learned a brand-new trick that had his humans doubled over with giggles: Cody realized that if he stuck around the shallow end of the pool, he could stretch out his hind legs and actually stand on the bottom, just like a human.

Even though he has a clear way out of the pool if he wanted to leave, it now seems Cody enjoys basking in the sun and the cool water. While he might not be the best swimmer in the world, he’s certainly one of the smartest.

Have you ever seen a dog do something like this before? He looks like a little Tyrannosaurus rex with his paws tucked in like that!
