We’ve heard many stories about dogs saving their owners’ lives, but this one is definitely a first.
Philip Roklen was recently driving along Interstate 17 during morning rush hour in Phoenix, Arizona. Philip is always with his loyal dog Jesse, a 4-year-old German shepherd. That fateful day was no exception.
Jesse was sitting beside Philip in the passenger seat. Suddenly, Philip’s SUV slammed into the back of a flatbed truck. It was a horrible crash, but things took an even more horrific turn when the corrugated metal pipes being transported by the truck slid off and impaled Philip’s front windshield.
The metal rods were mere inches away from piercing through Philip’s head but he says Jesse saved his life.
“Like any parent would brace their child sitting next to them… he’s in the back so I reached over, I saw this truck coming, and kind of that’s how I got it on the side instead as opposed to straight over,” Philip told FOX10 Phoenix. “I went to protect him between seats.”
Commenters are calling this a bona fide miracle. Meet Philip and Jesse in the video below, and tell us what you think!
