Tiny Dachshund Tips Scale At 38 Pounds, But Just 8 Months Later He Looks Entirely Different

Many people spend a lot of time dedicated to losing weight, but we don’t often think of that as something an animal needs to do.

Saying a cat needs to lose 5 pounds probably doesn’t sound that extreme, but 5 pounds on a cat is actually a lot more thank you think. The same goes for small dog breeds.

The average weight for a dachshund starts out at 16 pounds. Given that these dogs are small and typically low to the ground, you’d never expect them to get very big.

But for one 7-year-old dachshund, his weight skyrocketed so much, he earned himself the nickname Fat Vincent!

Vincent was surrendered to K9 Angels Rescue in Houston weighing a massive 38 pounds. His extreme weight led to some serious medical issues.

But surprisingly, Vincent’s health has made a turn for the better. According to CNN, Vincent has lost half his body weight and now weighs 17 pounds!

Just look at what the difference a healthy doggy diet and exercise made for this pooch.
