Two Rescue Puppies Ring In Their Marriage With Huge Town Celebration To Raise Money For Shelter

He was her hero from the beginning.

When Lola, atrembling, painfully shy chihuahua rescue, first met Miguel,the two instantly connected.Even thoughshe was a year older than him, he becameher rock, giving hera constant protective shoulder to rely on. And now Miguel is ready to put a rock on it.

The pair was adopted byChristine McNeely, the director of HumaneCNY, who jokingly told Inside Edition that the pair were ready to “commit to each other.”

Christine believes thatMiguel helped Lola heal from abuse that may have occurred at her previous home. As the two chihuahuas became inseparable over the past year and a half, the fear that seemed to chase Lola around every corner slowly began to fade into memory’s shadows.

“She used tohideall the time but now she greets people at the shelter,” McNeely explained. “He helped her come out of her shell.”

Now, aglowing bride is forever bonded to her best friend and guard dog. But the pair weren’t the only two puppies attending the doggy wedding – thebridal party featuredadopted shelter dogs, along with a flower puppyand ring bearer, who are still waiting to be adopted.

The wedding was held at the Liverpoolannual carnival in New York. Christine organized it in order to showcase the beautiful bond created when one is given the chance to love, and be loved, again.

Additionally, the wedding raised money towards the shelter, enabling them to continue to provide second chances for other lost puppies.
